Many scientist claim Free Energy is just a worthless theory and a waste of time. Yet the proponents of Free Energy believe it is possible and the benefits are vast. The debate rages, does free energy exist or not. And if so would capturing and utilizing the energy be cost effective.

Is the energy truly efficient and endless. As with any new concept, the meaning of Free Energy may depend on who you are talking with. It may have to do with the collection device or maybe the means of transmitting the new energy source.

Or possible the mystical perpetual motion machine. I don't think even the most optimistic inventors believe in a machine that once turned on and never needing additional energy is possible. Yet with ever increasing technological advances, harnessing the energy floating in the atmosphere seems realistic.

Often what was impossible only a few years ago becomes possible. The utilization of atomic power in the 40's and the Wright Brother's flight are just two examples. One definition of Free Energy is it can be found in the Zero Point Field. Basically a quantum mechanical state of matter at its lowest possible state of energy. In this field vast amounts of the energy are available.

As far back as 1913 two scientist, Otto Stern and Albert Einstein discovered this energy and called it residual energy. Even at that time they felt it would be usable as an alternative energy. In quantum mechanics vacuum energy represents Free Energy. It is said to be the energy field found in totally empty space.

Trying to describe it one proponent said it resembles the froth created by a waterfall hitting the bottom. The whole idea is rather interesting. Although we can not expect are electric bills to be disappearing at any time soon, the possibility still remains that other alternative forms of energy may become available in the future.
